Making more time to work on building this website still and putting up regular updates over at my movie journal.
After Bangor we spent a few gorgeous days on a small island off the coast of Maine with friends of ours. Ate lobster, enjoyed the very cool weather, drank, relaxed and did a lot of reading.
Back to Boston where we also met some friends and celebrated the 4th on the bank of the St. Charles river watching the huge fireworks display.
...arrived in Houston and got hit by a hurricane (Beryl) the day after, but that's another story.
Till next time!

What I'm working on...
I have been baking bread at home for a couple of decades. It's definitly one of my favorite activities in the kitchen (maybe a tie with making pizza). Almost on a weekly basis I bake a loaf.
Usually that's a sourdough of some sort but I vary it a bit and at times it might be a simple sandwich loaf or Japanese Shokupan (milk bread).
On my Food Blog, I recently put up a post I am very proud of that describes my most recent baking formulas and process.
It includes a modern method for wheat bread adapted from Modernist Bread at Home,
and my go-to sourdough levain loaf based on the method from Tartine. Here is a link to that post if you want to read about it.
Summer vacation...
We spent over a week in the Northeast around the July Fourth. Landed in Boston, drove to Portland, Maine. Went on a Stephen King tour in Bangor, the town Derry is based on. I'm a huge SK fan (Constant Reader) since my early
teen years but I was skeptical when my wife booked this. At the end of the 2.5 hours though we all (not just the CR) determined this was a hell of a cool tour with tons of infomration. The company is a wife and husband team
and she was our excellent guide. They have deep connections to the town and to King and the tour is worth it and very highly recommended.
